Reflection about this novel

                  At first I don’t think I can finish reading this novel. I don’t like to read a book and this book contain almost 300 pages and it’s a lot for me, but finally I can finish it. Reading this book help me become more patient. I think this project is a lot and also boring but when I start do each of the assignment it seem very easy and also fun. While I am doing each step it also help me to know more about the book, what is the author trying to say. I learn how to summary the book in correct way, I learn how to make a time line and I learn many things. This book is very interesting. It tells about Jill who has to fight with the pancreatic cancer, it also about her dreams how she want her garden to become beautiful. I think Jill is very strong girl, she thinks of giving up but at the end she fights with the cancer and she can cure from it. I can apply this to my life. I have to be strong and I have to fight with all of the problems and I must not giving up on anything.

Goals, dreams, and motives behind a main character

This story is mostly about Jill. She is a mother who has a great family. She has 3 kids and all of them are boys. Her goal is to cure from pancreatic cancer because she wants to stay with her kids so she has to fight with this disease even it has a less chance to become normal but she doesn’t give up. She has Caye her best friend to support her. At first she think she won’t fight with this disease, but when she think about her sons it’s like she has to fight for them because she doesn’t want them to grow up without a mother.

            Jill’s dream is she wants to make her garden beautiful as Caye’s Garden. Jill can’t make her garden beautiful because she doesn’t know how to plant a tree so Caye has to come and help Jill to make her garden beautiful. It took many days to finish it. That time Jill and Caye spend most of the time together. Planting the garden is the most favorite thing for Caye. Making the garden to be beautiful make Jill become better. Finally Jill’s garden is full of many kinds of flower and it’s very nice as Caye’s garden.

            Jill’ motive is all her children and her husband. They are like everything to her. She has to fight with the cancer so that she can stay with her family. That time it is very difficult for her, to fight with pancreatic cancer is very hard. She almost giving up but when she think that if she giving up who will take care of her children, her husband couldn’t handle them alone cause they are very naughty so she has to fight with the cancer no matter how hard it is. And at the end she cure from the cancer and she live her life happily.

Summary 4 (Chapter 25-32, Page 255-322)

            Jill likes to draw a picture or I can say that drawing a picture is her hobby. This time she draw a picture of garden which has many kids of flower and they all blooming. Because she want her garden to be beautiful like Caye so she draw a picture about it. Last time Jill and Caye help each other to make Jill’s garden to be beautiful. Now Jill’s garden is very nice than before, in her garden the rose start to bloom and it’s make the garden look colorful.

            It’s time for Jill to go back and see the doctor. The doctor say that she is getting very worse. The cancer spread to Jill’s liver already. Jill and Rob feel hopeless. They ask the doctor that if Jill is getting worse why they have to do the radiation and chemo. The doctor tell them that even if it don’t have a chance to survive but they shouldn’t give up because anything can happen. When Caye know she feel very worry because as she read about the pancreatic cancer and there are only a few chance that person will survive from this pancreatic cancer.

            Jill and Caye spend their time together. Caye always take her kids to Jill’s house and let them play with Jill’s son. Now the garden of Jill is very beautiful as she expect. At first she think this could be only her dream but Caye help her to make her dream come true and she is very happy with that. Next week is Simon first birthday and they decide to have a party. The party is very good and also fun. There are many people come to their party and Jill is very happy.

            The doctor say that Jill is getting better now. She is very strong and she doesn’t give up so she is getting better. Everyone are happy. Even Jill doesn’t has cancer but the doctor say that she have to take care herself because this cancer can come back at any time. Also everyone are very shock because there are very few people that can survive and Jill is one of them. And this story is end with happy ending. (-:

Summary 3 (Chapter17-24 Page163-253)

Jill getting worse, now she is in the hospital. Rob has to take care her at the hospital, and usual she has to tell Caye to take care her kids. While Jill at the hospital she realize that her sons are very naughty and Caye also have 2 kids, so she hire Rita to help Caye take care the kids. One day Jill’s mom, Marion come to hospital to visit Jill and she tell Rob to go home and stay with the kids. Next day Rita has something to do so she tell Rob that she want to take leave for only 1 days. It’s hard for Rob to take care all of the kids by himself.

Because he doesn’t know how to take care the kids, the house is very messy. Simon crying all the time and he doesn’t know what to do, he try everything but Simon still crying. After that Hudson and Liam start to fight with each other, because Rob still busy with Simon so he doesn’t stop them. Liam punch Hudson, Hudson is very angry so he fight back and then he broke Liam’s arm. Liam start to cry and that make Rob very shock. He see Liam’s arm was broke and he shout at Hudson. Hudson is very shock because Rob never do like this to him before so he run away. Rob doesn’t know what to do so he call Caye to come and help him.

When Caye arrive he tell Caye to take care of Simon and try to find Hudson, and he will take Liam to hospital. Caye walk around the house and she see Hudson sitting under the tree and he is crying, she talk to him and take him back inside the house. The kids very miss their mom. One week after that Jill come back from hospital. She spend most of her time with the kids. Jill want her garden to be beautiful as Caye’s garden. Jill and Caye help each other to make Jill’s garden beautiful. They plant many kid of flowers.

Doctor tell Jill to go to hospital to check up. The doctor say she is getting better. Jill is very happy to hear that. She think it’s worth that she decide to fight with cancer instead of giving up. Doctor do chemo with her and as we know there are many side effects for chemo. Anyway she has to fight because she doesn’t want to die and she want to stay with her sons. After that doctor say she can go home and she has to take a good care of her health and also has to eat medicine so that she will get better soon.

Summary 2 (chapter 9-16, page 84-162)

Now Caye still watching the kids for Jill and Rob because they still at the hospital and Rob told Caye that today the might not come back because the doctor want Jill to stay at hospital and he will check her again tomorrow. So tonight Caye and Nathan have to take care all of the kids. Caye told Nathan to pick up Andrew at school because she’s too busy and she have to take care Audrey, Simon, Hudson, Liam. The next day Jill and Rob is back, they come to Caye’s house to pick up their sons. Jill miss her all of her son so much, she miss Simon the most because he is the youngest. She spend all of the day with her kids. Jill play with them, cook for them, and also take them too the mall. I think she look very happy.

            Because Jill and Rob are very rich so they hire a nurse to take care of Jill. Sometime she very sick and Rob don’t know what to do so he have to hire the nurse to take care of Jill. Today when the nurse took Jill’s blood pressure it was 150 over 110 and the nurse say that it was little high. Rob say that tomorrow he will take her to the hospital to check up on her health again. When they arrive hospital they wait for the doctor and when he come he check up on Jill and he have the result to tell Jill that what happen to her. The doctor say that she have pancreatic cancer. Both Jill and Rob are very shock.

            Jill was shock but not as much as Rob because she think that she might have pancreatic cancer. She hide the secret that her father and most of her member family die because of pancreatic cancer, she hide it form her best friend and also Rob. Jill call to tell Caye that she have pancreatic cancer, Caye is vey shock. Even Jill know that she might have pancreatic cancer but she still cry, Rob also cry. Then Jill and Rob come to Caye’s home to pick up the kids. Jill was very sad. When she see Caye she come to hug her and start to cry again. After that the boys come out of the house and see Jill, they ask their mom that what happen you look like you just cry. Jill have to lie to her son because she doesn’t want them to know.

            Jill getting worse now she is in the hospital. At first she doesn’t sure that she should take the medicine or not because it have only a few chance that she might survive, but Caye say that at least she should try. When she take the maintenance she have to stay at the hospital at least 2-3 days because the doctor need to see side-effect of the medicine. This time Jill’s mom come to visit her, but she doesn’t want to meet her mother. At first she doesn’t let her mother to come in but at the end she allow her mother to come in. They talk to each other for long time and her mother very worry about Jill.

Summary 1 (chapter 1-8, page 5-83)

This book is about 2 best friend which are Jill and Caye. They both have their own family. One day Jill get sick and she tell Rob, her husband that call to Caye and let her take care of the kids. Moment later Caye go to Jill's house to pick up Simon, Hudson, and Liam to her house. Jill have 2 children, Andrew and Audrey. She sent Andrew to school already so today she have to take care 4 kids. Now Jill is at hospital with her husband and Caye is very worry because Jill and Rob didn't call her back. After that Rob call to Caye but she doesn't pick up he leave message that "I need to talk to you if you listen to this message please call me back" Caye is very worry so he tell Nathan to go to hospital and tell him to see Jill and Rob. When Nathan come back he tell that Jill might have pancreatic cancer. Caye and Jill meet at the church. Caye and Nathan know Rob because they study at the same university. At first Caye want Jill to live near her house but Jill buy another house which is very big and very beautiful and Caye feel jealous Jill that she had a lot of money. After that Caye go to Jill house and clean her house. Marion, Jill's mom call back to Caye and ask what happen to her daughter, Caye say that doctor will test Jill again tomorrow but her mother think that Jill has pancreatic cancer because most of her family member die because of pancreatic cancer. When she know that most of Jill family member have pancreatic cancer, she fell very worry about Jill so she research about pancreatic cancer. It's nearly Audrey's birthday and it make Caye miss Jill because that time when Audrey is going to born Jill is the one who always be with her and always support her.

Spectator Sport: The Beach

Everyone have their favorite place to go for me the place that I like to go is the beach. When I feel stress or when I have some problem, I like to go to the beach because it make me feel relax and when I am there I feel like all of my problems are all gone.

            As I walk down to the coast from my hotel I saw a sand as white as snow and I feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet.I feel exorbitance of smooth sand. The color of the sea is light blue, when the sun shine over the sea it make the sea look more beautiful and the view is grandiose.When I near the water I hear the crashing waves collide against the shore with their relaxing, rhythmic splashes like smooth jazz. Sometime the sound of each wave cause a relaxing sensation and can almost make you feel a deep sleep. The sound of the wave is very brazen. There are many taste and smell present on the beach. There is the smell of the salty sea air that gives reminders of summer. The intermperate of the beach is hot and also sunny. The feeling of the bright sun’s warm rays puts me into a good mood. Some may don’t like the sun rays cause it can make you black, but for me I like the sun rays. At the beach there are many kind of bids. There are many color of the birds like black, white, and gray. The color of the bird make the sky look more colorful. I saw people came here with their family, come with their friend, and some came alone. There are many beautiful thing at the beach like lay down and looking up at the blue sky you will see the variety of clouds, you also feel the mellow of the sand when you are laying down there. Watching the clouds move across the sky make me feel peaceful.When I was young I love the beach, I love the feeling when I walk into the sea, I love seeing people swimming in the sea, and I love the blue sky with the sun shine.

One Word That Describe Me

There are many words that can use to describe me, but if I have to choose only one word I will choose funny. I think this word is the best word that can describe me.

                The reason that I choose the word funny to describe me is because I think I am funny person and I am also friendly. I like to laugh and I like to listen to funny story. When I laugh I feel very happy. People who don’t know me may think that I am quiet, actually I am. If I don’t know them I am quiet person because I don’t know what to talk to them, but if I know them I don’t quiet anymore. I will change to person who is very talkative.

                In conclusion, funny is the best word that best fit me and my personality. Since there are many types of people in this world with different personality; the word that describes me might not be the best word for them. I just hope that people will find the best word that describe themselves.
